Its February in Oklahoma so the weather is still trying to decide what to do. They have changed the forecast several times in the last 48 hours. We are closely monitoring the situation and hope to have a good idea by tomorrow afternoon. Please check back for updates tomorrow. Our first priority is the safety of our students and staff. There will be a radio broadcast of both Quinton vs. Rattan games. The station is 102.3

Please do not forget to get your tickets for tomorrow's games online. If you don't they will be $10 at the door. You will need a ticket for each session. Only OSSAA passes are accepted with driver's license. They will charge for Kindergarten and up.

Our Regional is NOT affected by the OSSAA decision regarding upcoming weather. Only Area 1 (which is northwest Oklahoma) is affected. We are Area 4 and our games will still be played Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Once again our Regional will still be played Thursday, Friday and Saturday. In the unlikely event any thing changes we will update immediately. Thank you

Thank you to all the people who participated in the bond election. The Election Board has certified the election results and the bond has officially passed. Now we begin the process. Step 1 will be a meeting today with the architect and general contractor to finalize plans. Once they are finalized they will be submitted for approval. Step 2 will be approving a resolution tonight to sell the first series of bonds. This will be the process of taking bids for the bonds which will be opened at a special board meeting on March 7. As of now 100% of precincts in. Bond proposal is 62.37% for. Waiting on it to be declared official by election board.

Congratulations to the Quinton Speech Team. They competed in Poteau's Virtual tournament and the following students placed: Maria Monks, 2nd MO Avory Gilpatrick, 2nd PO Ashlynn Franklin, 4th Champs MO The team also placed 3rd in 3A Sweeps.

Here are the changes to basketball games the rest of the wek: The JH game at McCurtain for Thursday night is cancelled. The JH and HS games at Red Oak Friday are postponed until Tues, Feb 8:00. JH will be starting at 1:00 and HS at 6:30.

Parents and Guardians of Quinton Public Schools. We have been monitoring the situation very closely and the predictions have changed. Here is the situation: They are now thinking the freezing rain and possibly hail will begin earlier than first anticipated. We would be fine at the start of school at 8:00am but it will probably be a much different story by 3:00pm. The last thing we want to do is put our students and staff at risk. Our solution is as follows: We will go Distance Learning on Wednesday and we will use Snow Days for Thursday and Friday. We do not want to assign work on those days if we have students who might not have electricity. The K-2 games at Keota will now be played on Feb 16. The JH game on Thursday will not be played. The JH and HS games on Friday with Red Oak will move to Tuesday at the same times. We wanted to get the most accurate information possible before making this decision. Parents and Guardians of Quinton Public Schools. I know many of you , like all of us, have been watching the weather forecast for the middle and end of the week. We are all fairly sure we will receive some winter weather however, the big questions are still what type of precipitation we will get, how much will we get and when will we get it. We are actively monitoring the weather forecast. We want to be prepared but don't want to react too quickly as the forecast is still unfolding. First and foremost, the safety of our students and staff will be our first priority. Hopefully by tomorrow we will be in a better position to make an informed decision on our best course of action.
